Smart Bites
Many of us find it a challenge to control our weight during the holidays. Try these strategies to help keep your eating in check.
|
|
- If you're going to an evening party, cut down your calories during the day by
filling up on fresh fruit, raw veggies, or yogurt. Take a 45-minute power walk,
and then indulge without guilt (just don't go too wild).
- Eat something before you go. If you're hungry when you arrive, no amount of
willpower will keep you from inhaling the fried chicken fingers. A cup of soup
or a small salad will help curb your appetite.
- Be the slow-poke. Enjoy every bite; relish the aroma and flavor. You'll avoid
the automatic eating that results in hundreds of calories.
- Don't hover. Stay as far away as possible from the treat table. Fix your
plate, and move along.
