Fancy Fixin's For a Barbecue
Dress up this make-ahead menu with fresh flowers, herbs, and linens.
By Vicki A. Poellnitz

Lone Star Brisket in Chili Sauce and Beer, Garden Potato Salad, and Confetti Slaw make a plate full of flavor.

Recipes:
1. Confetti Slaw
2. Garden Potato Salad
3. Lone Star Brisket in Chili Sauce and Beer

If you only eat barbecue using paper plates and paper napkins, think again: There are as many ways to entertain and serve barbecue as there are styles of this Southern staple. Use a tablecloth, your favorite china, and, dare we say, real napkins. (It'll be fine. You can do this!) The food will taste just as good, if not better, when everything is dressed up a little bit, and your table will look spectacular.

We've pulled together an easy entertaining menu with Texas flair to get you started. These celebrated dishes from Stop and Smell the Rosemary: Recipes and Traditions To Remember (The Junior League of Houston, $26.95) are sure to be a big hit at your next gathering. For ordering information, visit the Junior League of Houston's Web site, or call (713) 627-2665 or 1-800-432-2665. Enjoy!
