There's no time like the holidays for chef-in-residence David Larson and his staff at Labrot & Graham Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. November and December bring more than a few rattles of pots and pans in the kitchen as David showcases his talents at the annual Christmas brunch, which is open to visitors. "We're going on our fifth year, and it keeps growing," says David. "It's the comfortable taste and flavors of Kentucky cooking that bring people here from every walk of life." Deciding which recipes to serve is no small task, but planning is part of the fun. He draws on inspirations from his grandmother, from whom he learned the love of fine food. He credits her for many of the Southern dishes he prepares today.

From Bacon-and-Mushroom Wild Rice to Pork Chops With Caramelized Onions and Peppers, these recipes are sure to please. Try David's menu, or blend a few recipes with your own traditions. If you're in the area, bring your family and share the holidays with the people at Labrot & Graham for a taste of home unlike anywhere else.
