"Thank you for going to Iraq for our country," writes one girl. "Because of your bravery I am able to live in a free country. A free country where red, white, and blue are our colors and God watches over us." Another writes, "Thank for ricking your life to save us. I thank you from the boudom of my heart. And triy to have a good time. I give you all my prayers." Another adds a P.S.: "I am saying the plage of alegeins."

Spelling aside, this collection of innocent letters from children speaks meaningfully to troops, military families, and others. The editors, a mother and her daughters, decided to assemble the book after soldiers raved about correspondence from kids the three women included in care packages. Part of the proceeds benefits the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes. The organization helps soldiers and families of Operation Enduring Freedom and wounded or disabled veterans from Operation Iraqi Freedom. --Suzie Horner
