Ravioli are incredible pasta. Containing some sort of filling—traditionally ricotta cheese—sandwiched between two pieces of dough, this stuffed pasta is a savory delight.
At its simplest, ravioli are covered in a sauce, and served with very little flourish. More creatively, they can provide the foundation for any number of dishes. If, for example, you like the idea of mixing your flavors, you'll probably love a bite of the delicious Tex-Mex Ravioli Casserole. It blends the richness of cheese ravioli with the distinctive flavors of black beans, cilantro, and two types of cheeses.
You can also let ravioli be the star of a one-dish wonder, the One-Post Pasta. Brown some ground beef, stir in the seasonings and sauce, then bring it all to a boil and toss the ravioli in. This is a delicious and simple way to get everything to the table at the same time. For something more delicate, enjoy a bowl of Ravioli with Watercress Pesto, or keep the pasta on the side with Grilled Fillets with Pecans and Green Bean Ravioli. However you stuff them, ravioli are little pockets of perfection.
