The Grand Ole Opry. Printer's Alley. Live music at every turn. These are only a few of our favorite things about Nashville and all of them (and more!) are highlighted in this incredible vintage ad for Music City. If you're anything like us, the playful video also has us craving some hot chicken and biscuits.
With a super catchy jingle — "All roads lead to Nashville, you're never far away!" — the Nashville Scene reports this nostalgia-laced video is believed to have been filmed around 1985. The commercial was produced by the Tennessee Department of Tourism Development. Crooning the catchy lyrics is Nashville's Kathy Mattea, and there are cameos from Conway Twitty and Barbara Mandrell, along with beautiful glimpses of the skyline, fireworks, Opryland, and recording sessions.

We're also loving a reminder of what one of our favorite Southern cities looked like illuminated with fireworks just a few decades ago. Notably, the city's glimmering 80s skyline is missing some modern day staples like the "Batman Building" (also known as the AT&T building, it's a 33-story skyscraper). Now, anybody have any tips for getting this song stuck on repeat out of our heads?
