Is there anything better in the summer than an invigorating dip in a lazy river? We think not. Kingsmill Resort in historic Williamsburg, Virginia has a lazy river that simply can't be beat. To get into proper vacation spirit, grab an adult beverage from a server (their icy cold and refreshing mojitos are the most popular choice, followed by the Piña Colada) before grabbing one of the 75 inflatable tubes, available for single, double, and triple riders.
Every year, Kevin Dry (yes, really), Director of Sports at Kingsmill, turns on the 250,000 gallons of water in the resort’s river up to five miles per hour. That may not sound like much, but considering that the average person walks around three miles per hour, you're definitely in for an adrenaline rush. At points along the winding river, the speed varies, providing something for everyone, along with breathtaking views of the James River. Nothing can substitute the real deal of cruising along under the Virginia sun, but watch the incredible river in action below to get a sense of the fun in store.

According to legend (and the property's communications team), a 7-year-old named Katie has ridden the waterslide into the lazy river a whopping 212 times. We're guessing she was too wiped out from all that fun action to make it to the pool complex's 10PM close time.
