Is Asheville, North Carolina right for you? Learn more about this mountain community.
Special places are found throughout the South. Some are natural, and others are man-made. The new development at Whisper Mountain (www.whispermountainnc.com) is both. Towering trees, spring-fed creeks, and expansive vistas are all features found near the home we've named Whisper Creek Cabin.
This pristine land, located about 17 miles northwest of Asheville, is primary to Whisper Mountain's development commitment to preserving the environment. Houses are sited to preserve as many natural features as possible, and each one strives to meet stringent environmental standards. On any given day you can hike the surrounding mountains, fish in nearby streams, visit Biltmore for a wine tasting, or simply relax in the terrace spa at Sky Valley Lodge that features outstanding views.
Whisper Creek Cabin is inspired by the architecture of homes found sprinkled throughout the mountains of Western North Carolina. With shakes and lap siding accented by a stone chimney and Craftsman details, the house looks as if it grew organically from the mountain.

Whisper Mountain is part of one of the most beautiful and culturally diverse communities in the South. The area has also long been a mecca for outdoors lovers. Just across the valley you'll find the classic Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa (www.groveparkinn.com) and, to the south, Biltmore (www.biltmore.com). Hidden in the mountains are some of the best artists and artisans the South has to offer. A fun pastime when you're in the area is to search for works by locals to decorate your home (www.ashevilledowntowngalleries.org).
