Bunny Williams, interior designer (and animal lover!), shares how her rescue dogs inspired her to create a pet-friendly, yet stylish space.
My dogs are just as much a part of my life as my friends, so I have to make homes that are comfortable for them. I'm Bunny Williams. I am the interior designer for the 2015 Southern Living idea house. I have Annabelle and Bebe, and they're both rescues. I always have a dog bed in the rooms. My dogs like to go under tables. They feel like they're in a little house, so I put the dog beds under the front hall table or under a table in the kitchen so that they can be with us. I use a lot of faux leopard dog beds cuz they don't get dirty. The other thing I do is that I use a lot of quilted rows over the sofa instead of that. Awful look of a dirty sheet or towels that people put over it, I wrap the seat cushions in something that's very attractive. It may be an Indian bed spread I found, if its a beige sofa I find beige throws, and I tuck them under the cushion so it looks nice in the room, and if the dog happens to jump on it it's okay. And they can go off to To being honored. [MUSIC]
