Come On In

Architect JC Chi designed the home's exterior in Texas country lodge-style fashion with its combination of materials: native rough-cut limestone, a metal roof, and horizontal plank siding. Pavers lead the way to the welcoming front porch and entry.

Part of the Casitas neighborhood at Traditions in Bryan, Texas, this home and community celebrates its proximity to Texas A&M and the golfing community.

Step Out Back

A covered back porch is both wide enough and deep enough to find protection from the elements. Better yet, there’s a stacked limestone fireplace to chase the chill during football season. A vaulted ceiling with dormer windows over this backyard retreat mirrors the soaring ceiling inside. Teak furniture―a dining table and lounge chairs―offers plenty of places to talk football or golf.

Go Team

A floor-to-ceiling stacked limestone fireplace becomes the centerpiece for the Cottonwood’s great room―not to mention the flat-screen TV just above the mantel. Here, decor pays homage to one of Texas A&M’s team colors, Aggie Maroon, with gold accents added for effect. Designer Patche Pratt chose durable fabrics, such as the leather sofa and copper-top cocktail table. French doors lead to a covered back porch―doubling the living area in fine weather.

Everything Is Bigger in Texas

With a 22-foot ceiling, the combined living/kitchen/dining area lives large. A corner fireplace with a limestone surround anchors the room and brings a bit of the outdoor rusticity inside. Thoughtful furniture placement and an open kitchen allow for big-screen TV viewing from every angle―perfect for Texas A&M game weekends.

Take Your Pick

With two master suites, both outfitted with king-size beds and flat-screen televisions, there’s never an argument as to who sleeps where. Bureaus serve as end tables in this generous space, providing a place to house weekend wear. Plaid shams and paisley accent pillows recall menswear suiting, and a leather bench supplies guests with a durable and handsome drop spot.

Be Taken Away

The master baths offer plenty of indulgences: soaking tubs, roomy tiled showers, and more-than-enough storage with walk-in closets and built-in cabinets.

Four-Star Finishes

Fine finishes, such as the granite countertops, tile, and elegantly distressed cabinetry, lend hotel appeal in the master baths.

Cook's Kitchen

A dark walnut finish on kitchen cabinets and granite countertops give a sophisticated, custom look to the kitchen. Stainless steel appliances and hardware add a sleek touch. A hidden spice drawer and refrigerator with cabinet paneling are thoughtful extra details.

Corner the Market

The floor plan of the great room allows for a corner dining table for eating or game playing. Splayed legs in an almost black finish complement the kitchen cabinets and dark leather sofa, while a lighter wood top and chairs play off lighter finishes throughout the room.
