How To Wrap a Gift

Once you learn the basics on how to wrap a gift, we suggest going all out with a nature-inspired wrapping palette (think greens and browns) and topping things off with uniquely Southern flair straight from your local florist, like bear grass, seeded eucalyptus flowers, elaeagnus leaves, and cotton bolls.

Save money and time by picking a signature paper you can use year-round, then dressing it up with seasonally appropriate accents and ribbon. We found ours at Alabama Art Supply (800/749-47410) but paper-source.com also has a great selection.

Step 2

Firmly pinch paper to create a (hard!) crease with your fingers. This will leave two triangular pieces on the top and bottom.

Step 3

Pull the bottom triangle tight and fold upward. Pull the top triangle down to overlap.

Step 4

Neaten the raw edge by tucking under, and secure with double-sided tape.

Adorn with a festive bow or ribbon, and ta-da! It's under-the-tree ready.
