Difficulty Rating: *** (one asterisk is least difficult, four asterisks is most difficult)

Loosely patterned after the simple board benches of colonial times, this bench is equally at home in the garden or on a porch. You can also use it for seating indoors. In the dining room, it provides a handsome way to add seating at the table.

The overall length of the piece is 5 feet, which provides comfortable seating for two. The length could easily be adjusted a foot either way to fit your particular location.

You could finish the bench with an opaque stain, paint, or semitransparent stain.
