Man's Best Friend

For almost as long as there has been man, there has been his best friend. More than any other animal, dogs hold a special place in our hearts.

Consequently, dogs have appeared in art since the days of cave paintings. King Charles II so adored his spaniels that they appeared in official portraits of him. Pablo Picasso did an entire series of paintings of his beloved dachshund, Lump.
