Austin, Texas-based HACIENDA is a marketplace full of beautiful, luxury home goods and gifts. It began as the dream of a former Wall Street trader who had a taste for a sleek, urban aesthetic and a love of celebrating talented artisans. Owner Jessica Beattie curates the shop's pieces, many of which are locally sourced, and pulls inspiration from her love of travel and adventure.

With her keen eye for design, it's no wonder that Jessica's living space is just as inviting as her shop. As the season for get-togethers, holiday parties, tailgating, and hosting begins, having a welcoming entryway to greet your guests is a must. Jessica's sharing her tips for how to create an inviting foyer in just a few steps.

1. Create storage.
If your entry way doesn't come with built-in storage, create your own! The HACIENDA Collection coat rack with a barn wood shelf (pictured above) gives much-needed hooks to hang coats, hats, and bags. For more storage, add a wire basket catch-all for guests to leave keys or other items. Using wire over wicker or cloth allows you to see what items are in the container, rather than having to dig through to find small items that have fallen to the bottom.

2. Bring the outside in.
Plants are one of the easiest ways to make an entryway feel welcoming. The key to choosing is finding low-maintenance plants that let off a pleasant scent. For fall, plants with warmer tones look beautiful once they've dried out. Eucalyptus, lavender, and craspedias seem to do the trick nicely, but any fall foliage trimmings from the yard add warmth without the fuss.

3. Keep warm weather clothes handy.
Once the weather starts turning, add your favorite everyday coat, a Turkish towel or scarf, or fall hat to the entry way. This way, there's always something quick and easy to grab as you head out the door. At HACIENDA, we're huge fans of Turkish towels because of their versatility. You can use them as scarf, picnic blanket, or towels.

4. Purchase a high traffic rug.
Regardless of the time of year, your entryway should be both stylish and usable! Try a cowhide or flat woven rug. Both rugs are incredibly easy to maintain and are available in a variety of sizes and colors.

5. Swap your pillows.
A simple way to make a big statement is by switching out your cushions or pillows. Neutrals with texture are any easy way to match your home's style or decor. Try a Cowhide pillows provide for durability in fall and winter months, and a neutral grey pillow (like the one pictured above) provides the space with a warm and cozy texture. By mixing textiles, you can work with natural fibers like linen all year long and still keep your home looking seasonal and fresh.
