Virginia native Grace Bonney, author of Design*Sponge at Home, shares about a DIY lesson that she learned the hard way.
So my biggest DIY lesson is learning to read the bottles before you use them. I did a decoupage project one time and I bought what I thought was decoupage glue. But it turned out to be sort of an oddly labeled super glue that I thought it was okay to apply with my hands. And later on learned that the newspaper I was sticking to the piece of furniture I was decoupaging was actually sticking to my hands as well. So, lesson learned, always read really carefully. And make sure you buy the glue that is specifically mentioned in the project that you're doing.
