Makeup Makeover

Rid the clutter in your bathroom drawer and cosmetics bag, and save precious time for yourself.

Arrange your eye shadow, makeup brushes, and lip gloss right at your fingertips, and you’ll transform your beauty routine into a blissful affair. Here are the easiest ways to organize your beauty drawer and makeup bag.

Keep It or Toss It?
The first step: Throw away anything past its expiration date. Out-of-date cosmetics may not be as effective and may host bacteria that could cause eye infections.

The same rule applies to beauty products as it does to your wardrobe: If you haven’t used it in a while, it’s time to toss it. We recommend keeping foundation up to two years and lipsticks and lip glosses for two to three years. Mascara should be kept only three to four months.

A Place for Everything
Designating an area to store all of your makeup ensures you’ll be able to find everything you need in a blink of an eyelash. For your space at home, place your makeup on the counter or into an open display where your options spread out in front of you.

Categorizing Is Key
Searching an endless pit of darkness each time you put on your makeup wastes time and causes frustration. Buying organizational separators for your drawer or compartmentalizing your cosmetics can easily fix the problem.

Healthy Benefits

  • Adhering to the expiration dates on the labels will cut down on bacteria growth and infection often associated with using expired beauty products.
  • Organizing your cosmetics and having easy access to your beauty products saves time and eliminates the stress of having to dig through a cluttered bag or drawer.
