I am married to Billy Cooper, have one daughter, Jaime Gibbs, and one granddaughter, Victoria Gibbs. I work for Southern Living magazine and enjoy spending time with my family.
When were you diagnosed?
April 1993
How has cancer changed your outlook on life?
I have learned to take things one day at a time and have learned that I can lean on family and friends for support and comfort.
And they will cry with me if I need them to. I have also learned that I am a much stronger person than I realized.
What words of encouragement would you share with others with cancer?
FIGHT BACK! Don’t let cancer get you down…keep a positive attitude and talk to your family and friends about how you are feeling.
You won’t always have a good day, but the bad days are few and far between. And just remember…you will get through this and
be a stronger person.
