moreTell us about yourself.
I am married to a wonderful and supportive man, Wes. We are both attorneys and do not have any kids yet.
When were you diagnosed?
February 2009 at the age of 27. I underwent a lumpectomy, fertility preservation, eight rounds of chemotherapy, radiation
therapy, and a year of Herceptin.
How has cancer changed your outlook on life?
I have become much more interested in being healthy. Before cancer, I assumed you had a free pass to eat what you want and
skimp on sleep. After cancer, I really try to take care of myself.
What words of encouragement would you share with others with cancer?
Surround yourself with family and friends. Do not try to shoulder this burden alone. And most importantly, with all the information
you will learn and the various treatments you may have to undergo, just take it all one day at a time. You will be surprised
at how quickly you make it through.
