How has cancer changed your outlook on life?
Cancer in many ways is a scary word, but it is also a word that when caught early enough can save your life. I thank God that my cancer was caught early through the detection of a mammogram. I can’t express enough how important regular screenings are for everyone, men and women. Life is precious, and every moment is a time to cherish.

What words of encouragement would you share with others with cancer?
First, I would advise someone who has cancer to talk to others who have had cancer. Advice from stories of admiration, encouragement, and even sympathy is what someone needs to hear. Next, I would say to stay positive because a negative attitude can never win.

Support this non-profit in honor of Clara:
Tri-County Cancer Coalition (606-546-3486 Knox County, 606-864-5187 Laurel County). The last Monday of each month those who have had cancer or a family member with cancer can meet with us for sharing and encouragement time.

Please support those battling breast cancer by donating.
