Virginia native Grace Bonney, author of Design*Sponge at Home, shares her formula for social media success.
When it comes to social networking I always suggest a rule of thirds. Meaning that one third of the things that you talk about are personal. Giving people an inside look at what you do day to day. One third are promotional or business related. And one third are resource sharing. And those are the ones that really make your feed interesting to follow. Those can be something cool that you saw online. A real interesting story that you love. Or just a tip that you've learned from someone outside of your site or your blog. If you keep those things in balance, you're sure to have a feed that everyone will want to follow.
