Anyone who has ever tasted divinity understands the traits that set this Southern favorite apart. The candy's meltingly sweet flavor offers a heavenly contrast to its airy texture and cloudlike appearance. In fact, the pecan halves on top seem to be the only earthly anchor for each sugary piece. These qualities, we reasoned, could also apply to cake frosting--with a little tweaking, of course. It would be the perfect contrast to tender layers of sour cream cake.
