It's a common problem: My hair is naturally wavy, but it falls flat at the roots when I use a straightener. I'm a sucker for every last mousse, powder, and teezing comb that promises to add extra volume. The issue I've found with many dry powders is they leave a hard-to-remove residue that I can't seem to shake, even after shampooing. Luckily, after years of searching, I've finally found the answer to add instant, natural-looking volume to my hair.
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast: $29; sephora.com
I already use Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield, so I had high hopes for Full Dry Volume Blast. After styling my hair, all I had to do was hold the can 10 inches away from my hair and spray from root to end, shaking well before each spray. I tousled my hair lightly with my fingertips, then I gave it one more spray for an extra boost. You can continue the process a few times until desired volume is achieved. I love that it added texture without the dirty feeling that's a calling card of many texture sprays and dry shampoos. It's a great alternative to firmer holding hair sprays if you're styling a ponytail or pinning hair back.

While you're not going to get the same level of volume as a full tease would, it's an easy way to add instant volume from root to end. I used Volume Blast after straightening my hair, however if you have naturally wavy hair, adding a few sprays after blow drying will help create beautiful curls without the use of a curling iron.
It also works as a great touchup anytime you feel your hair needs a boost in volume. After a long workday, I quickly refreshed my hair before dinner with a few quick hits to my roots.
