Four Bloggers' Go-To Holiday Cocktails

I think it’s safe to say that we’re all looking for the perfect cocktail to serve our Thanksgiving guests! Fortunately, I’ve teamed up with southern bloggers Beth Aschenbach and Danielle Norcross, from Palm Beach Lately, Amanda Gluck with Fashionable Hostess, and Ashley Brooke with Ashley Brooke Designs to bring us their go-to cocktails to serve this holiday season.

You've Been Flocked by Palm Beach Lately

Beth and Danielle with Palm Beach Lately serve a festive champagne cocktail mixed with fresh grapefruit juice, rosemary and my favorite spirit, St. Germain.

Ingredients:
  • 3 parts fresh grapefruit juice
  • 2 parts champagne
  • 1 part St. Germain Elderflower
  • Ice
  • Fresh rosemary sprig
Directions:
  1. Fill glass halfway with ice.
  2. Combine grapefruit juice, champagne and St. Germain.
  3. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and paper party straw.

The Festive Fizz by Ashley Brooke Designs

If you're looking for a delicious AND beautiful cocktail that is sure to impress your guests, try Ashley's cranberry inspired champagne cocktail!

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Orange Peels
  • Rosemary
  • Champagne
  • Orange Liqueur
  • Ginger Ale

Directions:

  1. Add 1/4 cup of muddled fresh cranberries, plus 1/4 cup of water together and bring to a boil on the stove.
  2. The cranberry mixture should end up looking like jam. Set aside to cool.
  3. Add to each champagne glass: 1 splash or orange liqueur, 1 splash of ginger-ale, and 1/2 tablespoon of the juice from your cranberry mixture. Stir and add champagne!
  4. Garnish with an orange peel, frozen cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary.

Pumpkin and Apple Cider Fizz by Fashionable Hostess

Amanda, founder and author of Fashionable Hostess concocted this pumpkin and apple cider fizz that is better than any Thanksgiving dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. pumpkin puree (canned)
  • 1 1/2 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 2 oz. apple cider
  • 1 1/2 oz. ginger beer

Directions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice then add pumpkin puree, vanilla vodka and apple cider. Shake vigorously until well chilled.
  2. Strain into a glass filled with ice and top off with ginger beer.

Not Your Mama's Hot Chocolate by Lavin Label

Lastly, I'm sharing a boozy hot chocolate that is sure to warm your guests. It's easy to make -- just gather up all of the ingredients, bring to a boil, stir and top with marshmallows.

Ingredients:

    • 1 cup whipping cream
    • 3 cups whole milk
    • 1/4 stick of unsalted butter
    • 1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup pure sugar cane
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    • a pinch of cayenne pepper
    • Bourbon
Instructions:
  1. Add of all the ingredients in a large pot, bring to a boil and let simmer.
  2. When ready to serve, pour into mug, add bourbon, stir with a peppermint spoon and top with homemade whip cream.
