There’s officially nothing Chip Gaines can’t do. This time the Fixer Upper goofball is getting after it in a whole new way, and taking a swing at retail!
The Dallas Morning News reports that Chip is getting his very own storefront in Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco, Texas. The renovation expert and demolition enthusiast was previously relegated to just a corner of the store's original location, but now he’ll have one of the property’s two silos all to himself.
The Chip silo will be dedicated to “Chip’s Corner” merchandise, including work shirts, hats and small tools. Although both silos are currently being prepared for renovation, the future of the second silo remains unclear.
“It’s still in progress and there are some great ideas from both Chip and Joanna,” Brock Murphy, spokesman for Magnolia, told The Dallas Morning News.
Murphy says the renovation of the silos is expected to start sometime in the first fiscal quarter of 2017, but they aren’t sure of a completion date. He also added that because of their large size— 3,800 sq. ft. each—it’s possible that the silos will be converted into a space with multiple levels.
If a store dedicated to Chip weren’t reason enough to visit, the property is also home to a bakery and a garden store. The Gaines are also in the process of renovating Waco’s historic Elite Café and plan to reopen it later this year.
