When Ree Drummond isn't hanging with her family, filming her wildly successful show, or capturing the beauty of Oklahoma's cotton candy-streaked skies, chances are, she's hanging with her pets.

As devoted Pioneer Woman fans, we can't get enough of Walter the Basset Hound, and his handsome long ears and stoic expressions. We've always wondered what keeps him fortified, and we're happy to report we now know. Today, Drummond revealed that his muse is simple and Southern: Bacon.

"I’d like to climb inside Walter’s head and see what he’s thinking for just a minute or two. Okay, maybe thirty seconds. Okay, never mind," she begins her caption. "I think I’ll just continue to accept him as the beautiful Basset mystery/enigma that he is and feed him another nibble of bacon, which I suspect is all he thinks about anyway. Mystery solved!"

Personally, we can get behind the Royal Dog of Pawhuska's sentiment. Ree, if you need an excuse to slip Walt a few extra bites, may we suggest a batch of Bacon Pimento Guacamole?
