Castlewood, Virginia resident Jedd Winebarger is our new personal hero—and he’s only 6 years old! The budding philanthropist is making national news for the best possible reason: he’s selling his artwork to raise money for kids in need. Thanks to his efforts, 400 children will receive Christmas presents this year.

“I love to help children and see them happy like me,” he told ABC News.

According to his mom, there was a special spark in his eye when he presented his idea. It wasn’t long before he was putting his plan into action, getting to work on his holiday-themed drawings and advertising them on Facebook—with the help of his mom, of course, who matched $1 for every $2 picture sold. Clearly the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Overall, Winebarger received 14 orders for $28, and collected a total of $168 in donations. He stayed true to his word, buying more than 380 gifts—while dressed in an elf costume!—and donating them all to Toys for Tots.

But his work isn’t done yet. The six-year-old is still collecting donations, so if you want to purchase one of his drawings (or give just whatever you can), send them to: Jedd Winebarger P.O. Box 217 Castlewood, VA 24224.

So how does his mom feel about this whole thing? Naturally, she couldn’t be prouder.

"We are so proud of him," she gushed. "And we will do whatever it takes to work hard to see him accomplish his goal. Our kids have such huge hearts. His sister Datesia worked hard helping wrap them and collect the money for the drawings. We all love to help others. His smile will light the room. He is a very special little boy who makes a big difference and is a great influence to us all."
